no pictures from today's ride. We started out in the pouring rain with temperatures in the 40's. The hills in the beginning of the ride were huge.......my garmin showed a grade of 19% on the steepest section! When we stopped at the first SAG many of the riders were experiencing hypothermia and had too call it quits for the day. Michelle and I added layers and moved on with a few other riders. At mile 25 we found a pub that was spo welcoming, offering us hot tea and a place to dry our cloths (a reminder of my day riding into Kirksville on the XC ride). We warmed up, changed our wet cloths and pushed on to lunch at mile 50 where we called it a day. Tonight we're at a Best Western in Tiverton. Tomorrow is a 60 mile day that seems to be a fairly flat ride into Wells. So proud of Michelle's determination and grit pounding out the miles and climbing the big hills today. We hoping for better weather tomorrow.
Best,
M&M
